My Extended Absence

Posted in Ambitions, Musings, Podcast, Progressive Nostalgia, WTF on August 21, 2008 by Aaron Garretson

It’s fucking difficult to get on the goddamn computer here when you have three additional people vying for time with the lucious internets. So, there won’t be a whole lot of updates, which anyone who reads this site, all three of you, are more than likely used to by now.

Here’s what’s on the slate for the coming weeks/months. There are three high profile releases coming out in September/October that I’ll be reviewing along with their entire back catalogue. Who? Just wait. Hopefully, I can review them before they hit the streets. That was a hint. Or was it? Just kidding.

That little project I mentioned awhile ago is a no go….FOR NOW! I am, of course, speaking of the Flaming Lips project I have taken upon calling Project Zaireeka: An Experiment In Aural Experimentation, Punctuated by Progressive Nostalgia. I know, it’s a mouthful, but I’m a sucker for long titles. :P

I’d still like to get a podcast off the ground, but lack the company that would make it work. No one wants to listen to one dude talk about media for an hour. I have talked to someone about it vaguely, but our schedules conflict and it would be nigh impossible to update it weekly, seeing as we are both lazy. This individual would make the perfect podcast companion, considering we occasionally butt heads. Should make for entertaining stuff. I’ve also got some awesome weekly/monthly features in mind that would definitely set us apart from the competion (read: EVERYONE!)

Anyone see that trailer for the Wii exclusive title The House of the Dead: Overkill? I’m buying it based on that trailer alone. For reals.

Any who, I apologize for my extended absence and hope to bring some more content to my corner of the web in the coming days. If only I could take command of the computer. Hmmmmm……

Let’s Make Things A Little Personal

Posted in Ambitions, Music, Top 10 on May 21, 2008 by Aaron Garretson

Yeah, I don’t ever update. I get it. I’m a procrastinating loser. Big deal. Get over it. Now, onto this post. I’ve decided it would be fun to do a little Top Ten List of my favorite albums ever conceived in hopes it would rejuvenate my passion to write. Let’s see if she works. Keep in mind this list was difficult to compile and reflects albums I’ve spent a lot of time with. So if there is a newer, for example, White Stripes album that just happens to be balls-to-the-wall bitchin’, then I’m more than likely going to go with a previous released that has touched me so. Just for the mere fact that it had an impact on my life. Who knows, in a few years, some of these albums may be bumped off in favor of others. It would actually be pretty interesting to update this once a year and reflect on how I still feel. There will be some obvious choices to anyone who knows me well enough, but also some surprises as well. Without further ado, clicky the linky: Read more »

A Little Bit of An Update

Posted in Ambitions, Musings on March 2, 2008 by Aaron Garretson

As you know, I am without internet and can only access Cesaria when not at home. So, this is a good opportunity to just say that if I don’t post anything this following week, I’ll be hardcore posting the week after that. I’ve got some new ideas for columns and a review of the Raveonette’s new Lust Lust Lust album. Plans for a podcast have taken their first baby steps, and I expect to figure that out within the next year. Yeah, I know. Long time.

Okay, This Time I’m For Reals

Posted in Ambitions, Musings, Suggestions on February 24, 2008 by Aaron Garretson

Alright, people. I know I said I would be updating more frequently at the beginning of December. That plan ultimately fell through. But as with my recent spamming of updates on my Myspace account, I’ve sort of gotten back into the writing mood. So, to kick off the relaunch, I’ll be adding a new installment to the Virtual Insanity column tomorrow, Wednesday a music review/column, and Friday a movie review. Wish me luck, as this project means a lot to me, and whether or not anyone actually reads it, keeps me sane.

I understand that there are a lot of blogs covering the same things that I do, and will ultimately be lost in the shuffle, so I’m going to be trying a few things to differentiate myself. I’ve got a few things in the pipeworks myself, but if anyone has any suggestions on how to set this site apart, please email me: azeke799@yahoo.com

Site Ambitions

Posted in Ambitions on July 31, 2007 by Aaron Garretson

Seeing as I would really like this site to become something, I have a few ambitions for Cesaria. These are just a few things to keep people coming.

  • I would like to host some online multi player tournaments as to have a sense of community when you visit Cesaria.
  • A weekly column that covers an overlooked title in one of the sites three criteria: games, music, film.
  • A weekly review in one the above criteria.
  • Hopefully some people will want to help contribute, be it reviews or original columns. It would help broaden our view. I welcome anyone, but would like to keep to a strict deadline for articles. It will definitely be a business environment. A FUN! business environment. A slight background in writing is a positive.
  •  Just to expand on the contributions aspect, I around here will be covering the indie music and Wii/DS games. It would be nice to have someone cover all things Microsoft or Sony. As to diversify.

If you have any other suggestions to better the site, or would like to contribute, drop me a line at pancake_genocide@yahoo.com or hit me up in the talkbacks!
